International Vesak Day Celebrated In UN Headquarters New York

Buddha Purnima (The International Day of Vesak ) was celebrated at the United Nations Headquarters in New York yesterday by organizing a special event.

The President of the General Assembly Ms. Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces, Chef de Cabinet of the Secretary General, Ms. Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti, and also representatives from Nepal , Bhutan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Combodia, Philippines, Russian, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand ,Viet Nam Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar,

Pakistan etc.The speakers shared their statements and they explain about Buddhism.

Amrit Bahadur Rai, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations said that the Loard Buddha was born in Lumbini. Its important to celebrate Buddha Jayanti for welfare of humanity as well as for the welfare of all sentient beings on earth also to promote peace, non-violence, compassion all over the world.
