United Nations: The U.S. decision to go to war in Iraq withought the approval of U.N. Security Council was illegal,"
Secretary- General Kofi Annan told the BBC on Wednesday.
" I hope we do not see another Iraq type operation for a long time-withought U.N. approval and International comminity,"he said in an interview with BBC world Service.
There were no International casualties in Iraq before the unnecessary war. Since the war began
many innocent civilians and more than one thousand U.S. soldiers and twelve inncent Nepalese
been killed and the numbers still growing---
My heartiest prayer for those innocent who lost their lives!!!
I agree with you, namche, and the General Secretay of the United Nations, Mr. Kofi Annan.
But, being in the US, and seemingly knowing the problems of the world, I can't but disagree with you both. Lives would have been lost, with or without the consent of the UN.
Just as we advise, as elders, to the others of what to do and what not to, United States, also has to take the stance, as an elder and as the only superpower, to poke its nose, where we may think, is not necessary. In that process, lives do get lost - UN sanctioned undertakings has lost lives too....
UN had nothing to do with the attack on Iraq. But did that spare the extremists from attcacking the UN Headquarters? No. The terrorists attacked the UN also, killed other innoncent people, beheaded innocent Nepali and shot the other 11. We, Nepalese and the UN had nothing to do with it...... So, it sounds a little ingeneous from Mr. Kofi Annan's side... and I do not agree at all with the president, George W. Bush.
The mess which we are witnessing in Iraq is created by George Bush, Chenny and their chronies. Majority of American public from all parties were against this war. The slogan we used to hear from Bush and Chenny before the war was SADDAM HAS WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION, we have to get rid of this before he uses on us or his neighbours. After the war nobody found WMD, Saddam is in jail, they are saying something new to American public to justify the war in Iraq. These TERRORIST ARE AGAINST OUR FREEDOM LOVING SOCIETY. I thought 9/11 terrorist were from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and some other countries but Iraq.
I agree with namche there wouldnot be killing of Nepalese nor others innocent people if Bush and Chenny have not created this mess. Dr. Kaji
