Updated Information on Fundraising for Sherpa Cultural Center.

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
The fundraising for Sherpa Cultural Center is progressing as planned with the support and coperation from our community members who have come forward to make a contribution by being Lifetime and Trustee members of United Sherpa Association. Sherpa Kyidug's board of trustee would like to thank them for there support in our endeavour to built this Center for our community.
We have so far collected 2,36,000.00 approx as part of 30% downpayment for the amount committed to become the trustee members of the United Sherpa Association from 104 members till last month.
Since we have found the ideal property located in Queens for our community center, the board has decided to make the offer for the property. The details of which will be avialbale soon. We would like to request our committed trustee members to please make the balance payment of the commitment amount if possible to move this project as planned.
The 4 groups of fundraising team formed by Board of Trustee to fundraise in our community have so far raised 39,766.00 dollars.

We would like to congragulate them for being the Trustee and Lifetime member of United Sherpa Association and contributing to the fundraising effort to build our community center here in NYC.
So far we have 111 trustee and 3 lifetime members as per our record. We would like to appeal to each and every one in our community to please come forward and contribute to this very needed Sherpa Cultural center project.
We will be updating information on our website about the fundraising activities by the board of trustee regularly so please stay tune !

Let's Go NY Sherpa….. Just don’t wait until someone to show up in your door with "Khata" where it might be too let.
We do not have million dollars
But we (Sherpa) have billion dollar heart.
I did not join Trustee to build "Sherpa Community Center" because I had lots of money and I know myself having two toddler, how hard is to live in such an expensive city but I showed the billion dollars heart. Therefore, all Sherpa brothers & sister let's show our billion dollar heart.

Update on the New Trustee Members:
Three (3) more members of our community has join the long list of trustee members of the United Sherpa Association by donating $ 5,000 or more. The list of trustee members are growing day and day and the total number now is 114. We would like to thank them for their generous contribution in our effort to fundraise for our community center.

Congragulation and thanks to all the New Trustee & Lifetime members of United Sherpa Association (Sherpa Kyidug). The list of trustee and lifetime members are growing every week and its very encouraging to see many of our sherpa brothers and sisters coming forward to contribute to our Sherpa Cultural Center Project.
The Fundraising team this week has collected $ 40,302.00 from trustee, lifetime and 2nd Installment payment.

Tashideley.
Sherpa Culture Center, our home away from home in the capital city of the world, New York could well be the most historical achievement of the Sherpa people. This project can be an example of Sherpa unity to future generations to come.
The dedication shown by board members of the NY Kyidug and board members of the Trustee is a historical pride to all of us, Sherpas living in New York and beyond. It is an absolute honest and amazing dedication shown by above board members spending their most valuable weekends in rain and cold, on own expenses going door-to-door collecting funds for our Sherpa Community Center to be built/bought in New York (while most of us are enjoying our weekend with our loved ones).
Sherpa Community Center NY, once bought/built will be the symbol of international pride to each and every member of the Sherpa community worldwide. The sooner we can make this happen, the sooner we all can smile with our head on our shoulder, and celebrate a historical achievement of Sherpa unity. SO, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE rush your support by calling our hard working board members of the trustee to visit you and your loved ones to collect your kind contributions.
Sherpa Culture Center is our unity, our generosity and our need of yesterday, today and tomorrows to come. Sherpa Culture Center in NY might well be the best gift we all can leave for our children and their children, and their children’s children.

The draft will be discussed and approved by the 21 member board of Trustee . Final Discussion and approval of the draft will take place during the Lhosar Party. Time will be announced soon by Kyidug.
3. The web site of the Sherpa Cultural Center is ready and will be launced as soon as possible. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the members of the
web team Mr. Dawa Sherpa , Mr. Sangay Lama, Mr. Sangay Sherpa & Mr. Sonam G Sherpa for their time and dedication to built this site for our Community Center.
4. We are also working on the publication of the Sherpa Cultural Center brouchure and the Newsletter of Sherpa Journal. We will do our best to make it avilable to all during the Lhosar Celebration. FIY Sherpa cultural Center site is more than just for viewing the updated donors list. Interested Generous Sherpas(ones living outside of NY too) can download lifetime and trustee membership forms and become donors a 21st century way. That'll not only make board of trustees' job easier but make our web masters really proud. They've worked really hard on this site so please do use our site for this worthy cause. Your small contribution will be a huge asset for our future generation. A generation whose hardship is not getting PS3 or XBox 360. A generation who takes everything for granted. A generation, on the verge of loosing their cultural heritage, a Sherpa identity. So, Please I beg you all again, we need to help ourselves by donating whatever we can! We owe this to our future generation.
