This is to inform to all the trustee members that the executive committee meeting of the United Sherpa Association conducted on Aug 19, 2007 under the chairmanship of Mr. Chhongba Sherpa has decided the following:
1. The second Trustee meeting of the United Sherpa Association will be held on September 23, 2007 at Yeti Heizan Restaurant, Sunnyside, Queens at 12 Oclock Sharp (Sunday)
2. Formed an election committee comprising of 4 members to conduct free and fair election for the board of Trustee and do the necessay for the formation of Trustee Board.
The Election Committee members are:
1.shering Sherpa : Secretary of Sherpa Kyidug
2. Pasang Sherpa: Joint Treasurer of Sherpa Kyidug
3. Sangboo Sherpa: Exec.member of Sherpa Kyidug
4. Dawa Sherpa (Mera): General Member
3. The meeting also decided to form 21 member Executive Trustee Board .As per the By laws
4 executive members of the Sherpa Kyidug will represent in the Board of trustee and 17 members will be elected from the trustee members.
Pls note: Nomination form for the election to the board of trustee has been sent to you. If you are interested to serve in the Trustee Board please do fill up and send it by mail to Sherpa Kyidugs address.
Last date for withdrawing your nomination is September 16, 2007.
If 18 or more file their nomination, the voting will take place on September 23, 2007.
We would like to request all the trustee members to please attend this very important meeting which will form the Trustee Board for period of Five (5) Years and other committees to move forward to achieve our dream of building a Sherpa Cultural Center here in New York City.

Thank you very much for stepping great stepe to built Sherpa community but what is elections for? The trustee member's intention was to be leader by donating $5000 or what?I am a Trustee member and what I knew is We need Sherpa culture Community Center as soon as possible? good comment mr dano4 im not trestee memmer but i know this kind of happen. is looks like buy lederpost by money and envolve darty poltion in commity of bord member. if i give like 20000 dollar can i elctied persdent of bord member? or sherpa kydigug slcted good persen evin i dont donated more then 5000. are there only 130 sherpa live in newyork?.if they want to build sherpa comnity they shut say all sherpa what ever they donate not only 5000.right now lama chewang have to be elctid persedent of bord member beause he donated 15000 dallor for. so all sherpa agrey to lama chewang be pesedent of bord member?so sherpa kydug have to be decide all this matter i think and i hope succsefull your progect thank you' dont fell negetive if i sacugest any wrong.
My donation to build/buy Sherpa Community Center in NYC was my voluntary desire to give back to the community that I am a proud and part of being a Sherpa. Therefore, I would like to make it known clear that I would not want to be trusted to take responsibility of a Board of Trustee, solely based on my monetary donation. I also do not think that leadership positions in our community activities should be made available based solely on $$$$$$$. Should I be trusted to assume part of the responsibility for my ability other then above, I will be honored, and will assume the responsibility together with members of the community with best of my ability.
I strongly believe that building/buying a Sherpa Community Center in NYC is today’s top priority and shared responsibility of each one of us residing in New York and beyond. A united effort from each one of us is absolutely necessary to accomplish this wonderful project of ours. I strongly believe that only those who truly can devote time, and can mobilize the members of the community in unity to share the responsibility to accomplish the project, should claim such leadership position. I will vote and support to such candidate.
Trustee by definition in a not-for- profit organization means a policy making body who takes the primary responsibility of care taking the longevity of the organization. But, in our case, for the time being and according to the currant bylaw of the Sherpa Kyidug, NY; it basically means members of community who donates $5000.00 or more to assist Sherpa Kyidug raise necessary funds to accomplish our common goal of building/buying a Sherpa Community Center in NYC. In another word, the role of “Trustee” described by the Sherpa Kyidug to us in writing, so far simply means a fund raising committee. That is it!!!!!!!! In my case, I will always whole-heartedly support the Kyidug in any capacity to raise funds for this, and other Sherpa community projects.
It is very clear in the currant bylaw of the Kyidug that “there shall be a chairman, Member Secretary, Treasurer and trustee members in the board of Trustee”. This to me is clear that all those who are qualified to become members of the trustee by donating $5000.00 are automatically qualified to become members of the board of trustee. Personally, I think any one who donates $5000.00 or more should be qualified as a member of Board of Trustee. That is how I understood in the beginning, and that is what has been clearly written in the currant bylaw of the Sherpa Kyidug. However, if what has been written in the bylaw means NOTHING!!!!!!, then I have nothing to add, but I have and will, always respect the decisions Kyidug makes for the community unity and benefits, even in personal disagreement. All I care is that we buy/build a Sherpa community Center in NYC.

From nlama's comment I learn that 130 Sherpas donated $ 5000 or more and became trustee member.
I don't know when and how all this started, why Kyiduk never sent a circular letters to general sherpas about this project at the very begining and try to involve all sherpas? Looks like Kyiduk is not interested in loose change.
By the way, Khiduk still collecting $25 member fee or worth
nothing compare to $5000?
